The number of fat cells in our body generally becomes fixed when we hit out teenage years. A healthy adult with a healthy BMI typically has 25-30 billion. Losing or gaining weight does not generally affect the number of fat cells in our body, rather the size of the fat cells. Our medical grade fat reduction treatments, act to physically destroy the fat cells. Treatments such as cavitation affect the size of the fat cells.

Our Company Values
Are these treatments suitable for me?
Just as the same with any surgical fat removal, all of our non- invasive fat reducing treatments, offer best results for people who follow a healthy diet and exercise regime. Generally those clients that achieve best results are less than 10 to 15 kilograms over their goal weight, or have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or less.
While exercise and a disciplined diet shrinks fat cells - our treatments destroy those same fat cells, which results in lasting fat reduction. This means if your diet and commitment to healthy exercise is poor during the treatment your remaining fat cells will simply grow in size and benefits from our treatments will not be fully realised.
At Body Sculpting Clinics we are committed to working with you to achieve your body goals.

While exercise and a disciplined diet shrinks fat cells – our treatments destroy those same fat cells, resulting in permanent fat reduction. This means if your diet and commitment to healthy exercise is poor during the treatment your remaining fat cells will simply grow in size and benefits from our treatments will not be fully realised.
How do the Fat Cells Expand?
Generally when weight is gained, fat cells will fill with triglycerides and if this energy is not utilised and calories still exceed demand the cell will expand to a maximum of 4 times its natural size. Only then will the fat cell multiply – dieting and weight loss, only makes fat cells smaller but the number of fat cells stays the same.
What happens to the fat cells in the untreated areas?
The fat cells in the untreated areas remain the same, therefor this is why our treatments are brilliant for body sculpting or contouring techniques. It is important to speak with your Body Specialist in order to create a tailored treatment plan that is right for you and your goals.
Liposuction Vs Cryolipolysis?
Liposuction is a more aggressive surgical procedure with possible surgical risks, prolonged downtime and potential for surface irregularities. Cryolipolisis is the alternative to invasive fat reduction, using controlled cooling technology and the body’s own natural elimination process it helps to reduce stubborn pockets of fat in the treated area making it ideal for body sculpting and contouring.
