Treatment Contraindications

Thank you for choosing Body Sculpting Clinics. We prioritise your safety and satisfaction, and it’s essential to review the following contraindications to ensure the best possible treatment experience. The below experiences and/or medical conditions are contraindications (or possible contraindications) to our treatments.

If you have any questions or you have experienced (or are currently experiencing) any conditions listed below, please contact your nearest clinic as soon as possible prior to attending your booked appointment. Please consider booking a complimentary consultation at your nearest clinic.

General Contraindications (Apply to all treatments):

  • Pregnancy or lactation
  • Pacemakers, defibrillators, or any active implanted devices
  • Use of skin-thinning or sun-sensitive medications (e.g., Roaccutane)
  • Recent surgery (within the last 3–6 months, or depending on healing)
  • Liver disease or malfunctioning liver
  • Kidney disease or malfunctioning kidneys
  • Cancer or undergoing cancer treatment
  • High fever or active infections
  • Certain medications (check with your therapist)

Cryolipolysis (Fat Freezing):

  • Cryoglobulinemia
  • Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria
  • Known sensitivity to cold, such as cold urticaria or Raynaud’s disease
  • Impaired peripheral circulation in the treatment area
  • Neuropathic disorders (e.g., post-herpetic neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy)
  • Impaired skin sensation
  • Open or infected wounds
  • Bleeding disorders or current use of blood thinners
  • Recent surgery, scar tissue, or stretch marks in the treatment area
  • History of hernia in or near the treatment site
  • Skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, or rashes in the treatment area

Dermal Peels (Jessner, Lactic, and Mandelic):

  • Pregnancy or lactation
  • Active skin infections in the treatment area
  • Skin sensitivity to chemical exfoliants
  • Recent use of retinoids or other strong exfoliants (within the last 2 weeks)
  • Open wounds, eczema, or dermatitis in the area to be treated
  • Sunburned or compromised skin

HIFU Face & Neck Treatments:

  • Cochlear implants
  • Metal threads in the treatment area
  • Dermal implants
  • Known sensitivity to ultrasound or skin-related disorders
  • Recent fillers or anti-wrinkle injections in the treatment area (wait 2-4 weeks)
  • Neurological conditions affecting sensation in the treatment area

Body HIFU Treatments:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Pacemakers or cardiac implants
  • Metal implants in the treatment area (e.g., joint replacements, screws)
  • Blood clotting or bleeding disorders
  • Skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Severe or uncontrolled diabetes
  • Cancer or history of cancer in the treatment area
  • Autoimmune diseases (e.g., lupus, scleroderma)
  • Recent fillers or Botox injections in the treatment area (wait 2-4 weeks)
  • Neurological conditions affecting sensation in the treatment area

LED Light Therapy:

  • Photosensitivity or use of photosensitizing medications
  • Active skin infections or open wounds
  • Skin cancer or a history of skin cancer in the treatment area
  • Recent Botox or filler injections (within 2 weeks)
  • Conditions aggravated by light exposure (e.g., lupus)

DMK Treatments:

  • Pregnancy or lactation (please consult with a therapist)
  • Severe skin conditions or active infections
  • History of adverse reactions to similar skin treatments
  • Current use of strong retinoids or exfoliating treatments
  • Known sensitivity to specific enzymes or skin-care ingredients used in DMK formulations
