Smoker Line Consultations

Lines around the lips are a common concern for many people and can develop over time due to a range of lifestyle and genetic factors. At Body Sculpting Clinics, our qualified medical practitioners provide consultations to discuss non-surgical options that may be suitable for you.

During your consultation, your practitioner will review your individual features, outline whether treatment may be clinically appropriate, and provide guidance on risks, aftercare, and next steps.

Smoker lines, sometimes called lip lines, are the fine vertical lines that can appear above the upper lip. Although the name suggests they are linked only to smoking, they can develop in anyone over time. These lines vary between individuals and may become more noticeable as the skin matures.

A thorough clinical assessment can help identify the underlying causes of these structural changes. Common factors that may contribute include:

  • Exposure to sunlight

  • Using straws or bottles for drinking

  • Habitual lip pursing or similar facial expressions

  • Mouthpiece use in musical instrument play

  • Decreased facial fat with age

  • Hereditary factors

  • The natural ageing process

  • Lifestyle influences
