Therapeutic Light Therapy

led-acne-blue-light-3

LED, or light emitting diode therapy, is a skin health treatment that harnesses the power of varying wavelengths of light that send energy deep into the tissue in minutes.

There are different frequencies, or wavelengths, used with LED light treatment. These include yellow, red and blue light frequencies, which don’t contain ultraviolet rays, do not produce heat and are readily absorbed into the skin.

When used as directed, LED light therapy can improve your skin over time. You’ll need maintenance treatments to maintain your results and is safe and effective for all skin types.

Three Coloured Light Therapies

Red Light Therapy

For Collagen and Skin Rejuvenation

Red light therapy (RLT) aims to solve skin issues by using low wavelength red light. This red light is natural and can penetrate deep into the skin, where the cells can absorb and use it.

As a study in the journal Seminars in Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery notes, mitochondria in the skin cells can absorb these light particles. This can help the cells produce more adenosine triphosphate, which is the energy source for all cells.

Many experts attribute the potential positive benefits of RLT to this function. With this extra energy, the cells may be able to respond better to damage and rejuvenate themselves.

Blue Light Therapy

For Acne and Congestion

Blue light therapy is a noninvasive treatment for acne that uses light to kill certain bacteria on the skin.

A form of phototherapy, blue light treatments are effectively used for acne vulgaris that is moderate or has not responded to other therapies.

Blue light therapy uses light in the blue wavelength range to kill the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, or P. acnes, on the skin.  There is no recovery time, and the treatment has relatively few, if any, adverse effects.

Studies show moderate evidence for the efficacy of blue light treatments for people with mild to moderate acne.

Yellow Light Therapy

For Skin Health and Recovery

LED Yellow Light Treatment provides overall facial rejuvenation and increases the health of your skin. This gentle, healing treatment lasting between 10-20 minutes helps to reduce the appearance of pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. By inducing collagen production and accelerating lymphatic drainage your skin will appear brighter and more radiant than before.

Yellow LED Light Therapy is an ideal treatment post, dermal peels, cosmetic injectables and microneedling.
